Quality Education in a caring Environment

School context

Located in New Lambton and a part of the Newcastle Principal Network, our celebrated school of excellence has proudly served its community since 1880. The Family Occupation and Educational index (FOEI) rating is 31, which indicates low levels of disadvantage.

The wellbeing of all staff and students is integral to our school context. Of the 538 students enrolled, 4% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 32% from language backgrounds other than English. The school currently supports students originating from over 40 nations.

Our evidence-based pedagogy includes explicit teaching in literacy and numeracy with a focus on differentiation to meet individual learning needs, partnered with inquiry based, real world problem solving. We have a strong focus on developing the complex combination of dispositions, skills, values and attitudes that are essential for our students in order for them to be successful lifelong learners.
