Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.

For more information, listen in your language.

Visit the department’s translated documents section for important information that’s relevant for your child’s education in many languages.

The Parents and Citizens Association meets in the staffroom on the third Monday of each month. New members are always welcome.

From our P&C President

A big welcome to our new families! The New Lambton P&C has another busy and eventful year planned to support our school and the children. Perhaps you are able to assist in one of the many activities?

What is the P&C?

The P&C is an organisation that exists in almost every public school in NSW. They bring the school and the community into close cooperation. The P&C is important to the school and is involved in lots of activities and functions throughout the year.

The New Lambton P&C runs the Book Club, Uniform Shop, Interrelate Education Sessions and coordinates many fundraising activities, which directly benefit the school. We act as a channel for the communication, discussion and resolution of issues relating to the school and to educational matters.

What we do

Over the years the P&C together with the school, has been able to raise enough funds to see the implementation of Smart Boards and air conditioners to all classrooms, we have assisted in the development and finishing touches to the Multi Purpose Hall. We most recently helped update student computers through out the school, and helped fund the refurbishment of the Art Room.

We have an annual financial commitment to the school which includes supporting literacy enrichment, Year 6 end of year expenses, merit cards and the end of year Presentation Day. We financially support the Library with a $3500 annual donation. The Library directly benefits from the ‘Book Club’ with nearly $5000 of rewards acquired annually. This is run by a group of hard working parents.

The P&C hosts the Kindergarten Orientation and Open Day mornings as well as a morning tea to welcome new parents. Some of our yearly events are Easter Raffle, Discos, Mother's Day and Father's Day Breakfasts, Christmas Carols and International Teachers' Day to name a few.  The Uniform Shop and 2nd Hand Uniform shop are staffed by volunteers who work to ensure we can supply the students with a full range of uniforms in the one convenient location.

How we operate

Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month in the Staff Room. It is here that we make decisions about funding priorities, activities and operations for the year. The School Principal gives an update on school matters that concern the school community.

How can you help?

If you are interested in joining the P&C or just assisting with any of our events you are welcome to come along to a meeting – the dates are advertised in the weekly school newsletter, or you can contact the Secretary or President with any enquiries. New members to the P&C are always welcome and encouraged. We hope to attract a cross-section of the school community, with the idea that different people are able to contribute in different ways. Please know that P&C Members are not expected to turn up to every meeting nor assist with every activity.

Actively participating in the P&C is great for meeting other parents, finding out what's going on within the school and providing input into your child's future at New Lambton PS. Your support would be greatly appreciated! Should you wish to find out further details or have any questions, please contact our President.
